Congratulations to Kevin P. Fiori, MD, MPH, MSc, FAAP, on his appointment as the new Vice Chair for Community Health & Engagement and inaugural Chief of Community & Population Health in Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein.
As Vice Chair, Dr. Fiori will lead the department’s efforts in improving the health of our patients and community through public engagement. He has a longtime commitment to addressing health disparities in communities such as the Bronx and in West Africa. Dr. Fiori’s key research focus areas are social determinants of health and community health worker (CHW) outreach, and to broaden it to the international scale by reducing maternal and child mortality, optimizing CHW integration. This holistic dedication to health and connection will strengthen Montefiore Einstein’s bond with our Bronx community.
He serves as the Director of the Social Determinants of Health in the Office of Community & Population Health and the Community Health Worker Institute at Montefiore Einstein as well as the Director of the Community Health Systems Lab at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Fiori is also an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Family and Social Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
