Laurie E. Cohen, MD, Chief, Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes, Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein, and Professor, Pediatrics (Endocrinology and Diabetes), Albert Einstein College of Medicine, is now the president-elect of the Pediatric Endocrine Society (PES).
As a leader in her field with a clinical and research focus on the impact of childhood cancers on the endocrine system, Dr. Cohen—along with the board of directors—will oversee the society’s mission to advance the endocrine health of children and young people and to support the professionals who work on their behalf through patient and clinician education, research and advocacy. PES has over 1,600 members who represent the multiple disciplines of pediatric endocrinology. The society offers the resources and network connections for members to improve their clinical practice and research.
PES presidents serve a three-year term on the board of directors; each term includes a year as president-elect, followed by a year as president and a final year as past president. Dr. Cohen’s service as president-elect began in May 2024.
