Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Bronx Oncology Living Daily (BOLD) program has been honored with the 2023 Corman IMPACT Honors award by the Schwartz Center for Compassionate Healthcare, a national nonprofit “dedicated to putting compassion at the heart of healthcare.”
The award honors organizations that are having a transformational impact in providing compassionate, collaborative care. The BOLD program was recognized for its holistic psychosocial care of people with cancer. While many patients have their physical needs met, they may benefit from additional support to help them cope emotionally and in other ways. Guided by this idea, the Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center’s BOLD program offers mind-body therapies (reiki, yoga, etc.), crochet and other creative arts classes, fitness/nutrition workshops, peer support and mental health counseling services, and other wellness programming at no cost to participants.
The award was presented to Alyson B. Moadel-Robblee, PhD, Director, Psychosocial Oncology & BOLD Living Programs, Deputy Director, Community Engagement and Cancer Health Equity, Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Professor, Epidemiology and Population Health, Medicine, Radiation Oncology, and Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Moadel-Robblee also participated in a recipient panel discussion hosted by Schwartz Center Chief Medical Officer Beth Lown, MD.
