The dedicated team from the J.E. and Z.B. Butler Center for Children and Families at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) was honored by the New York Yankees before a game in August. The team was recognized for its work evaluating, treating and helping victims of child abuse and neglect.
More than two dozen Montefiore Einstein associates attended the baseball game to discuss research and patient care at CHAM and advancements made at the Butler Center with donors and apprised them of ongoing work. The event was an opportunity for existing and potential donors to meet and better understand the work of Montefiore Einstein leaders.
The Butler Center at CHAM is a leader in the diagnostic evaluation and treatment of abused and neglected children from birth to age 18. It provides comprehensive child abuse evaluations and behavioral health treatment for children who are victims of physical and sexual abuse, have been exposed to violence or have experienced a traumatic event. Since its founding in 1984, it has served almost 38,000 children with medical, psychosocial and therapeutic services. It also has trained thousands of medical providers and social service professionals on how to detect and treat abused children.
