Marking a decade of excellence in Westchester County, Montefiore Einstein’s top leadership and hundreds of associates at Montefiore Mount Vernon and Montefiore New Rochelle hospitals recently celebrated 10 years within the Montefiore Health System.
The event celebrated the valuable community partnerships that began in 2013 and have paved the way for greater access to quality healthcare in the lower Hudson Valley.
Weeklong festivities to honor the occasion included seasonally themed activities and a donut truck, leading up to a cake celebration and employee gifts. Leadership in attendance at the festivities included Anthony J. Alfano, Vice President and Executive Director, Montefiore New Rochelle, Schaffer Extended Care Center and Montefiore Home Health Care, and President, Montefiore School of Nursing; Daniela Levi, MD, Medical Director, Montefiore New Rochelle; Danielle Kennedy-Shannon, Assistant Vice President, Nursing, Montefiore New Rochelle; Michael Rubertone, Senior Director, Operations, Montefiore New Rochelle; and Emy Velez, Human Resources Business Partner, Montefiore New Rochelle, Montefiore Mount Vernon and Schaffer Extended Care Center.

Montefiore Mount Vernon is a 121-bed, community-based teaching hospital that provides residents across the region with innovative inpatient, critical and ambulatory care. Founded in 1891, Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital is now a New York State-designated Stroke Center and HIV/AIDS Center and is home to the Beale Chronic Wound Treatment and Hyperbaric Center.
Opening as New Rochelle Hospital in 1892, Montefiore New Rochelle is now operating as a comprehensive medical campus serving southern Westchester residents’ diverse healthcare needs. Its services include primary, acute and emergency care; outpatient services; a community health center; long-term extended care at Schaffer Extended Care Center; and rehabilitation and home care services. It is also home to the Montefiore School of Nursing.
