The Bronx Zoo’s Run for the Wild was the place to be “spotted” as more than 5,000 participants gathered to support the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) and this year’s majestic animal honoree, the revered and endangered snow leopard.
Sixteen Years Proudly Partnering with the Wildlife Conservation Society on Run for the Wild at the Bronx Zoo
This year’s Run For The Wild marks Montefiore Einstein’s 16th year as a proud partner of the annual fundraiser for WCS.
“Montefiore Einstein and The Bronx Zoo are both over 100 years old and anchor institutions in the Bronx,” said Melissa Cebollero, Associate Vice President, Community Affairs, Montefiore Einstein. “We share a commitment to the environment and the health and well-being of those who reside in our community.”
The day’s events included a 5K race for individuals and a 3K Family Fun Run/Walk for participants of all ages. Runners and walkers enjoyed free zoo admission and parking, access to all rides and attractions, refreshments, music and trivia, wildlife characters and the Bronx Zoo’s 125th birthday celebration festivities. Participants took advantage of the free restorative yoga hosted by Montefiore Einstein after the race and received giveaway towels.
“Thank you, Montefiore Einstein, for the breathable moments with yoga,” said run participant Patricia Wilson.
