Every detail at this center has been meticulously designed to prioritize not only ambulatory surgery, radiology and orthopedic and spine health, but also our focus on wellness, hope and healing,” said Philip O. Ozuah, MD, PhD, President and CEO, Montefiore Einstein. “We envision a place where empathy meets expertise and where compassion and cutting-edge technology combine to advance human health.”
Mark E. Geller, MD, FACR, President and CEO, Montefiore Nyack, said Montefiore Einstein is combining four pillars of excellence within one building to advance orthopedic and spine care. “We believe it will redefine how orthopedic and spine care is provided now and well into the future—and serve as one of many more to come,” Dr. Geller said.
“In this one location you can see your physician, obtain your imaging, have your surgery if needed and receive your rehabilitation and physical therapy. That’s really unique. The center demonstrates the strength of our health system,” said Neil J. Cobelli, MD, Chairman and Professor, Montefiore Einstein Orthopedic Surgery.
Scott Edelman, MBA, CPA, CFE, Executive Director, Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, added, “I like to call the center an orthopedic super mall, where healing is personal, where names matter and where you are more than just a medical record number.”
Burke’s team of world-renowned physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists and expert therapists utilize advanced rehabilitation equipment and a full range of innovative treatments, including physical and occupational therapy, orthopedic and sports medicine rehabilitation, concussion management, and vestibular therapy to help patients quickly recover and return to their day-to-day lives.
The design of the 60,000-square-foot center was created to provide an experience with abundant natural light throughout creating an indoor/outdoor connection, where the exterior environment becomes part of the healing journey. Through an intentional, research-driven approach, the building optimized the care experience for patients while aiming to minimize caregiver burnout and occupational stressors for the providers.
