More than 1,000 riders biked through historic districts, beautiful waterfronts and lush greenways in Bronx County during the 28th annual Tour de Bronx.
The free, 25-mile event promotes bicycling as a healthy and environment-friendly mode of transportation. The ride concluded at the New York Botanical Garden with a festival and celebration—along with a bit of yoga and stretching to relieve overused muscles.
Montefiore Einstein has been a proud supporter of this popular event for more than a decade and was on-site to hand out information about its state-of-the-art services and facilities.
“Tour de Bronx is a signature annual event for Montefiore Einstein,” said Melissa Cebollero, Assistant Vice President, Community Affairs, Montefiore Einstein. “We are so proud to partner with the Bronx Borough President’s Office and the Bronx Tourism Council to bring Bronxites and regional New Yorkers the largest free cycling event in the state.”
Tour de Bronx is produced by the Office of the Bronx Borough President, Vanessa L. Gibson, and the Bronx Tourism Council in partnership with Transportation Alternatives, a bicycling and pedestrian advocacy group.
“Thank you to all who participated and enjoyed some good physical activity while viewing Bronx County from a unique vantage point,” Cebollero said.
